Five books enter the debate ring, but only one will emerge the winner of Canada Reads 2020. Ali Hassan hosts this year's battle of the books, which is themed: One book to bring Canada into focus.

Welcome to the great Canadian book debate! Five champions each choose a book by a Canadian writer that they believe the entire country should read. After four days of debates, one book will be declared the winner of Canada Reads.

In these days of isolation, the books debate show explores stories that inspire readers to reflect on community and who we are in the world we live in. Over four days, five Canada Reads champions will bring their diverse perspectives to this year's theme: One Book to Connect Us.
