Overview
Collections are hand-curated themed watchlists maintained by the ReelRifter editorial team. Think of them as "starter packs" for exploring a genre, era, director, or theme — each one carefully assembled rather than algorithmically generated.
Types of Collections
Collections span a wide range of themes:
- •Decade Deep-Dives — the essential TV and movies from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 2010s
- •Genre Essentials — the definitive list of neo-noir thrillers, prestige dramas, cozy mysteries, etc.
- •Director Spotlights — complete or curated filmographies of major directors
- •Franchise Guides — chronological viewing orders for complex cinematic universes
- •Cultural Moments — shows and movies that defined specific cultural conversations
- •Thematic — e.g., "Shows to Watch After Succession," "Best Unreliable Narrator Films"
Browsing Collections
The Collections hub at /collections shows all available collections with a cover image, title, item count, and brief description. Filter by category or search by keyword.
Adding Collections
You can add an entire collection to your Watchlist in one click via the Add All to Watchlist button. Individual titles within a collection can also be added selectively. Titles go into Want to Watch status by default.
Completion Tracking
Once you've added a collection, ReelRifter tracks your completion percentage — showing how many titles in that collection you've watched. Collections with your completion percentage appear in your Stats page.
