Overview
Moving to ReelRifter from another tracking service? The import tool at /import lets you bring your entire watch history — statuses, ratings, episode progress, and watchlist — in minutes.
Supported Sources
- •Trakt — import via API (OAuth connection) or CSV export
- •Letterboxd — import via CSV export (diary, ratings, watchlist files)
- •Generic CSV — import any CSV with title and optional rating/status columns
Trakt Import (API)
1. Go to /import and click Connect Trakt 2. Authorize ReelRifter on Trakt's OAuth page 3. Select what to import: watched history, ratings, watchlist, collection 4. Click Start Import — the process runs in the background
Letterboxd Import (CSV)
1. Export your data from Letterboxd (Account → Export Your Data → request ZIP) 2. Upload the ZIP or individual CSV files to /import 3. Map columns if prompted (usually automatic) 4. Click Start Import
What Gets Imported
- •Titles — matched to TMDB records by title and year
- •Statuses — Watched → Finished; In Watchlist → Want to Watch
- •Ratings — normalized to 1–10 scale
- •Episode progress — from Trakt, exact S/E position imported
Conflict Handling
If a title already exists in your ReelRifter Watchlist, the import skips it by default (no overwrite). You can change this to "merge ratings" or "overwrite" in the import settings.
Import History
View past imports and their status (pending, complete, failed) in the Import History section at /import.
