Overview
Household brings ReelRifter to your whole family. One account holder can invite up to 4 additional members — each gets their own watchlist, recommendations, and episode tracking, while the household shares a common Watch Queue.
Setting Up a Household
Go to Settings → Household or /household. As the household owner, click Create Household and give it a name. An invite link is generated — share it with family members. Each invitee needs a ReelRifter account (Free or higher).
Member Limit
Households support up to 5 members total (owner + 4 invitees). This is a Family plan feature — see Plans & Billing for details.
Shared Watch Queue
The Shared Watch Queue is a collaborative list where any household member can add titles. It's designed for family movie nights — add something to the queue and everyone sees it. Members can vote on queue items to indicate interest.
Kids Profiles
Create a Kids Profile for any household member under 13. Kids Profiles:
- •Restrict content to age-appropriate titles (no content above a configurable rating, e.g., PG)
- •Hide mature content from Discovery features
- •Require a PIN to switch back to the adult profile
Parental Controls
Household owners can set content rating limits per profile, block specific titles or genres, and review a child's watch history. Controls are managed from Settings → Household → [Child Profile].
Household vs. Friends
Friends are mutual social connections with activity feeds and taste scores. Household is a more tightly integrated family-sharing structure with a shared queue and parental controls. A household member is not automatically a Friend.
