Overview
ReelRifter's notification system keeps you informed about the content in your Watchlist without requiring you to check the app constantly. Notifications arrive as push alerts on mobile and desktop (where supported).
Enabling Push Notifications
On first login, ReelRifter prompts you to enable push notifications. You can also enable them at any time from Settings → Notifications or at /settings/emails. You'll need to grant browser/OS notification permission when prompted.
Notification Types
- •New Episode Available — fires when a new episode of a Watching or Want to Watch show drops on a streaming service you have configured
- •Season Premiere — alerts you when a new season of a show in your Watchlist premieres
- •Leaving Soon — warns you (3-day and 1-day notice) when content on your Watchlist is about to leave a streaming service
- •Streak at Risk — reminds you to log a watch before midnight to keep your daily streak alive
- •New Release (Movie) — fires when a movie in Want to Watch becomes available to stream
- •Friend Activity — notifies you when a friend adds or finishes a title
- •Watch Party Invite — instant alert when someone invites you to a watch party
Managing Preferences
Visit Settings → Notifications (/settings/emails) to toggle each notification type on or off individually. You can also set a Quiet Hours window during which no push notifications will fire. Email digest settings (daily or weekly summary) are managed on the same page.
Notification History
All recent notifications are accessible via the bell icon in the top navigation bar, with a 30-day history.
